If you’ve ever traveled southward along Mehringdamm, you will have seen the queue for Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebap. It never falls below 10 people, but waiting for those 10 people to get their hands on a kebab, just so you can get your hands on yours, is well worth it. This is cheap fast food at it’s best.
There are just 3 options on the board, the Hähnchen döner mit Gemüse and the veggie Gemüse kepap and the giant Turkish wrap, the Dürüm. All come loaded with freshly chopped veggies and salad, and constantly refreshed meat. No halloumi or falafal for the herbivores here, but the tasty fresh vegetables make up for the lack of protein.
Ask for all three sauces if you like your mouth full of flavours and we challenge you to get a smile from one of the guys working behind the counter before staggering, full-stomached, into the Ubahn station to take your train home.
€5 food: Between €2.80 and €4.20 a wrap
€5 ‘fullness’: You’ll be stuffed
€5 change: Not much if you go for the veggie Dürüm
Daily lunchtime til late
